Dr. Offringa has treated people with a wide variety of personal needs, concerns, and conditions. As a result of being in private practice, working in a major medical center in Boston and being on staff at a well known Psychiatric Hospital for a number of years, Dr. Offringa has worked with people facing a variety of psychological and physical life challenges. To name every individual circumstance would be too great for this web page. However, some of these psychological conditions include anxiety states, grief, loss, depression, psychological distress from chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses, and addiction to alcohol or other drugs. More impotantly, he understands the issues that recovering people face so that they may be able to achieve a relapse free recovery. Dr. Offringa also works with people who feel unsatisfied with their lives or who have more obvious difficulties with straight or gay intimate relationships, and in dealing with separation or divorced issues. In addition, if you have experienced a traumatic event in your life as a child or as an adult, Dr. Offringa is known for his work with people who have felt the pain and terror of overwhelming life experiences.
Dr. Offringa's trusting and caring approach to therapy is based on his extensive schooling and training. He received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Fielding Institute, after completing his Masters in Social Work from Boston University.
